This clip has a cult following.

Colin cut his teeth in media and advertising while working for a regional television station. One day during the 1976 Federal elections the then Prime Minister of Australia agreed to a series of interviews.

Colin being the news reader at the time scored the task of interviewing the PM in front of the overpowering press entourage from the nation's capital.

As he was also the Children's hour host he asked the PM to tell him a few stories about his childhood. At the end he asked the PM to sign the autograph board for Mr. Sad (the show's shy monkey puppet character). Something in Mr. Fraser's glance to one side prompted Colin to tell him how to spell his name. Talk about walking the edge. The PM took it in good fun and Colin lived to tell the tale.

The national current affairs program (Four Corners) reporters mentioned it to their producer in Sydney and two days later the clip was played on national television.
